Here is how to build it into your senior ministry.<\/p>\n<h2>Start by naming who you are losing<\/h2>\n<p>Before you pick any tool, make a list. Who used to come and now cannot? Go person by person.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Members in nursing homes and assisted living.<\/li>\n<li>Members recovering at home after surgery or illness.<\/li>\n<li>Members caring for a spouse and unable to leave.<\/li>\n<li>Members who stopped driving and have no ride.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Most churches are surprised by how long this list gets. These are not strangers. They are the people who built the church. A senior ministry that reaches them by phone tells them they still belong.<\/p>\n<h2>Why the phone, and not an app<\/h2>\n<p>It is tempting to hand a senior a tablet and call it solved. For someone who has not been in the building for a year, hearing the familiar voices in real time can bring them to tears.<\/p>\n<h3>A weekly reminder call<\/h3>\n<p>The system rings them right before service and connects them. No need to remember a time or find a number. The phone rings, they answer, they are in.<\/p>\n<h3>A prayer or devotion line<\/h3>\n<p>Many seniors love a short daily call to dial for prayer or a scripture reading. It gives shape to a quiet day and a reason to reach out.
